Compliance with RoHS directives
As part of its commitment to its international customers and to the preservation of the world environment, Alacron has instituted the reduction or elimination of hazardous substances identified in the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive 2002/95/EC.
The RoHS directive limits the use of certain hazardous substances currently used in electronics and ectronic assembly manufacture, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and halide-containing compounds PBB (polybrominated biphenyl) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ether).
Alacron will transition most of its product line to be RoHS compliant. Therefore all new Alacron products under development will be designed to meet ROHS Regulations. Customer demand and technical feasibility will determine which existing products will be adapted to meet the RoHS Directive and when such adaptations will occur. Products not selected for RoHS compliance redesign will continue to be available for sale, subject to the normal business considerations that influence a decision to withdraw a particular product from the market. All Alacron customers will be given assistance in complying with the appropriate directives without charge from Alacron.
